PICTURE DAY
School pictures will be taken on September 11 in the morning. Offsite students should make plans to stop by before school if at all possible and preschool students who aren’t at school on Thursdays can come early in the morning to get their pictures taken. There is a new process for ordering this year. Check out the attached for more information.

HARVEST PARTY SEPTEMBER 19*
Come for fun, food, and fellowship with other CCS families on Friday, September 19 at 6 pm. 
Location: 14510 South M 37 Highway, Battle Creek, MI 49017.
Bring: lawn chairs and a dish to pass per family – suggestions are PK-3rd bring a main dish, 4th-8th bring a side, and 9th-12th bring dessert. 
Provided: plates, utensils, cups, and drinks
Fun things to do: bonfire, volleyball, kickball, 9 square, and much more!

LOST AND FOUND
Please be sure to check all the lost and found areas for your student’s belongings. We will be donating everything at the end of each quarter

MEDICATION
Please be sure to stop by the office and pick up a medication form if your child needs to take ANY medication. Students should only take medication prescribed to them in the office (including Advil, Tylenol, cough drops, etc).

CRC/CHAPERONE AGREEMENT
If you have not filled out a CRC and Chaperone agreement, you may still do so.  This will allow you to volunteer at the school to fulfill your Family Service hours.  Simply, fill out the forms completely and bring your driver’s license to the office.  Hard copies of the form can also be picked up in the office.  

ELEMENTARY FIELD TRIP – Gull Meadows    
All students in Kindergarten through 4th grade will visit Gull Meadows Farm on Friday, September 19 – cost is $9.00 per person and drivers are needed but background check paperwork needs to be completed 2 weeks in advance. Please look for information from your child's teacher regarding drivers and times. Due to the large number of students, we will be having two different touring times: K and 1st are leaving at 10am and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will be leaving at 11am. All students will need a sack lunch – no hot lunch will be available to them on the field trip that day. Please do not send in the field trip fee until you receive the info sheet. Any questions? CHAPEL WEAR & SPIRIT WEAR STORES
The chapel wear store is now closed but you have a couple more days to order Spirit Wear (deadline is August 31 for Spirit Wear!).  All orders will be delivered to the school office approximately two weeks after the store closes. We will contact you to let you know when it arrives.

MIDDLE SCHOOL UPCOMING EVENTS
   •    SEPT 2 @ 6:30pm: 5th grade and new MS student parent meeting
   •    SEPT 19: MS community Service. Details coming soon from homeroom teachers.
   •    SEPT 4-5: NWEA testing for MS. Contact your homeroom teacher with any questions.

PIT CREW
The PIT Crew is the Parent Involvement Team of Calhoun Christian School. We plan special events for the school and spoil the amazing staff of CCS from time to time.  Interested in learning more about the PIT Crew? Join us for our kickoff meeting Monday, Sept. 8 at 8am in the cafeteria. POPCORN & PICKLE FRIDAYS
Starting Friday, September 5, your student will have the option to purchase a bag of popcorn and/or a pickle for $1 each. Bring your money in to your student’s teacher.  If you would like to volunteer on a Friday, sign up here. HURRY!  Spots fill up quickly!

LEGO/ROBOTICS CLUBS
Lego Club began this week and will run weekly on Tuesdays from 3-4pm. Some days may be added closer to Robotics Events:
   •    Grades 1-3 - Explore Group: Meet in the cafeteria at 2:40
   •    Grades 4-6 - Challenge Group: Meet in Mr. Rome’s room at 2:55.
Students may bring a snack. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Cropsey or Mr. Rome. Pickup will be out the front door at 4:00pm.

SPORTS INFO
If you would like to volunteer for sports in any capacity [score board, books, concessions, gate, film] please contact don.hughes@calhounchristian.org.
Help Needed for Next Week:
   •    Tuesday, 9/2: Varsity Volleyball, 6:00pm 
   •    Thursday, 9/4: Varsity Soccer, 5:30pm for gate/ticket person

FAITH AND FAMILY AT WESTERN UNIVERSITY
Western Michigan University Athletics sent us a discount to all of their WMU Football home games with a Faith and Family Offer for religious institutions and communities across West Michigan.
