AWARDS NIGHT

HIRING FOR 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Calhoun Christian School is looking for elementary teachers and a middle school teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  If you or somebody you know is interested in a position, has or will have earned a Bachelor's degree in education, and is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, please have them contact Jeralyn Belote at jeralyn.belote@calhounchristian.org.

LOST AND FOUND

As we are winding down the year, please be sure to check all the lost and found areas for your student’s belongings. We will be donating everything at the end of the year.

MEDICATION

Please be sure to stop by the office and pick up any medication that belongs to your students.  Any meds left at the end of the year will be properly disposed..

FIELD DAY

If you are interested in helping out at our elementary FIELD DAY.  Please fill out the attached form and return to your student’s teacher.  Please remember, you must have completed the background check to participate. Be sure to log your volunteer hours on FACTS through the Family Portal.  

 
ELEMENTARY LIBRARY NEWS

We appreciate the Houvener ladies for their amazing work as Library Volunteers.
Please note the following dates for the end of the school year.
May 12 and 15—last week of library. Books must be turned in. Although we do not charge overdue fines, students who lose books or do not turn them back in will be charged a $5.00 replacement fee. Please contact your homeroom teacher with any questions. Thank you. 

ROBOTICS OPEN HOUSE

Interested in more information regarding the robotics team at CCS?  Come join a winning team! Students in grades 7-12 and any adults interested in sponsoring or mentoring are welcome to attend.  See the attached flyer for more information.

POPSICLES ON THE PLAYGROUND

Do you know someone that might be interested in enrolling their child in preschool? Invite them to any of our Popsicle events happening this summer! The preschool staff along with current and newly enrolled families and those interested in learning more about our programs, are invited to come and play on Tuesdays this summer, once a month.  
The purpose of these events is to build community by talking with the teachers and other parents, while their children play, make new friends and see their old friends too! Come to one or all of these events : Tuesday, June 10, Tuesday, July 1 or Tuesday, August 5 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Parents are required to stay during these events.

VOLUNTEER HOURS DUE MAY 30

As a reminder, 20 hours of service must be logged by the last day of school (May 30) or you will receive a bill for $12.50 per hour unserved in June. These service hours help keep our costs down and we appreciate your help greatly! We are always in need of volunteers for Lunch, Popcorn, and Sports (contact Don Hughes for more info about taking tickets at soccer games, etc). Hours need to be logged in the FACTS Family Portal, under Family, then Family Home, and then click the "Add+" button under your name to enter service hours.

SUMMER CARE HOSTED BY ST JOE

Please consider sharing your child with us for the summer of 2025! We welcome students entering TK or Kindergarten (in Fall 2025) up to 12 yrs. 11 mos. of age.
•    This summer we will open the week after school ends for the year, with our first day being 6/9/2025.
•    The cost will be $40/day (1st & 2nd children) and $35/day (3rd, 4th, ......children).
•    Students will receive breakfast, lunch and snacks!
Your children will be engaged academically, socially, and spiritually, be active on a daily basis, all while having a TON of FUN!!!
