WELCOME BACK - COUGAR CONNECTION

The first week of school has come and gone!  Thanks to all the parents, students and staff that helped to make it a SUCCESS!  We are all looking forward to a great year.  Please check your emails for the weekly edition of the COUGAR CONNECTION to stay aware and involved with the happenings of CCS.

LOST AND FOUND

Please be sure to check all the lost and found areas for your student’s belongings. We will be donating everything at the end of each quarter

MEDICATION

Please be sure to stop by the office and pick up a medication form if your child needs to take ANY medication.  Students should only take meds prescribe to them in the office. [ex. Advil, Tylenol, cough drops, etc]

CRC/CHAPERONE AGREEMENT

If you have not filled out a CRC and Chaperone agreement, you may still do so.  This will allow you to volunteer at the school to fulfill your Family Service hours.  Simply, fill out the forms completely and bring your driver’s license to the office.  Hard copies of the form can also be picked up in the office.

THEATRE

For our fall play this year we are going to do The Mousetrap.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, August 27th at 3:00pm in the chapel at Calhoun Christian School. The auditions are likely to be finished between 4 and 5 pm.
COST is $200 to participate.
Rehearsals will begin on September 2nd and be held in the chapel from 3pm-5pm on Monday-Thursday. Recognizing that we are a small school, we will work with athletes and their coaches to accommodate both schedules so that students can participate in both theatre and athletics. Part of accommodating schedules may require a couple of Friday rehearsals led by Mrs. Belote to help performers to catch up on what they may miss due to games.
Tech week will be September 29th - October 2nd. It is imperative that actors are available to attend rehearsals this week. Productions will be on October 3rd and 4th at 7:00pm.
This play is open to all 8th-12th graders from CCS, St. Joe, St. Phil, and homeschool students.
The Mousetrap is a murder mystery play by Agatha Christie and is the longest running play of any play in the world. A whodunit, the play has a twist ending which the audience are traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre. There are eight cast members.
•    Mollie Ralston – Proprietor of Monkswell Manor, and wife of Giles.
•    Giles Ralston – Husband of Mollie who runs Monkswell Manor with his wife.
•    Christopher Wren – The first guest to arrive at the hotel, Wren is a hyperactive young man who acts in a very peculiar manner.
•    Mrs Boyle – A critical older woman who is pleased by nothing she observes.
•    Major Metcalf – Retired from the army, little is known about Major Metcalf.
•    Miss Casewell – A strange, aloof, masculine woman who speaks offhandedly about the horrific experiences of her childhood.
•    Mr Paravicini – A man of unknown provenance, who turns up claiming his car has overturned in a snowdrift. He appears to be affecting a foreign accent and artificially aged with make-up.
•    Detective Sergeant Trotter – The detective. He arrives in a snow storm and questions the proprietors and guests.
