The school office will be open the following hours this summer:
•    June 2-26: 9-3pm, Monday to Thursday
•    Closed June 27-August 1 (email office@calhounchristian.org or leave a message on our main line as we will check periodically)
•    August 4-14: 9-3pm, Monday to Thursday

If you are looking for ways to get ahead on 2025-2026 volunteer hours, check out some projects we have over the summer we need help with. Pick a slot you are interested in (or 2 or 3!) and we will reach out when we have more details. We will continue to add to this list as projects arise: Calhoun Christian School: Summer Help.

HIRING FOR 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Calhoun Christian School is looking for elementary teachers and a middle school teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  If you or somebody you know is interested in a position, has or will have earned a Bachelor's degree in education, and is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, please have them contact Jeralyn Belote at jeralyn.belote@calhounchristian.org.

LOST AND FOUND

Please be sure to check all the lost and found areas for your student’s belongings. We will be donating everything at the end of the year.

MEDICATION

Please be sure to stop by the office and pick up any medication that belongs to your students by Friday.  Any meds left will be properly disposed..

VARSITY FOOTBALL PLAYER/PARENT MEETING

Come meet the NEW head coach – our very own Coach Kevin Bennett.  June 5, 6:30-7:30 pm in the Cafeteria at CCS. 

PRESCHOOL HELP NEEDED

Our preschool staff will be a vendor at the Battle Creek Cereal Festival on Saturday, June 14 from 8-12. We need a student or adult at least 5'5" to wear our Cougar costume, stand next to our table and wave at guests! This is a great way to get started on those volunteer hours for next year. ROBOTICS OPEN HOUSE

Interested in more information regarding the robotics team at CCS?  Come join a winning team! Students in grades 7-12 and any adults interested in sponsoring or mentoring are welcome to attend.  See the attached flyer for more information.

POPSICLES ON THE PLAYGROUND

Do you know someone that might be interested in enrolling their child in preschool? Invite them to any of our Popsicle events happening this summer! The preschool staff along with current and newly enrolled families and those interested in learning more about our programs, are invited to come and play on Tuesdays this summer, once a month.  
The purpose of these events is to build community by talking with the teachers and other parents, while their children play, make new friends and see their old friends too! Come to one or all of these events : Tuesday, June 10, Tuesday, July 1 or Tuesday, August 5 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Parents are required to stay during these events.
 

VOLUNTEER @ LEILA ARBORETUM

Leila is hosting several events this summer and there are several volunteer positions available. There is a children’s pizza party to be held on June 28, Noon to 4 pm.  There are other opportunities to plant flowers downtown Battle Creek, and volunteers are needed for parking at musicals and events held at Leila.  If you are interested in helping out, please call 269-969-0270.

FOOD FOR SUMMER, AND HOT LUNCH FOR 2025

Lakeview wanted to provide our families with the attached flier about $120 in "Sunbucks" available to spend on food for eligible families. Hot lunch orders will be available to order the week of August 4 for August and September (more info to come via email). To apply for the free/reduced lunch program, complete Lakeview's free/reduced lunch application online after July 1.

2025-2026 SCHOOL CALENDAR

The first day of 2025-2026 will be on August 18. We are planning a back to school open house for Thursday, August 14 from 4:30-7:30pm! We will send out info through the summer as we have updates for families. 

 
COACHING

If you are interested in coaching any sport for the 2025-2026 school year, please contact don.hughes@calhounchristian.org.

SPORTS PHYSICALS

ONE DAY ONLY!  Sports physicals will be held on August 5 from 8 am – Noon in the chapel.  The cost is $25 [cash only] per student.  Be sure to have your portion of the form filled out including parent’s signature.

Parent-Student Handbook 2025-2026

Our Board-approved Parent-Student Handbook for next school year is attached for your review, along with the revisions made from the 2024-2025 school year. We abide by this handbook for the operation of our school, so please take a few minutes to review our policies. The handbook can be accessed at any time on our website under Resources -> Handbooks + Forms.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CAMP

Join Coach Mark Beckley and Coach Sunshine Belote for summer basketball camp hosted at CCS June 16-21 8:30 am- 10:00 am for Middle School and High School girls. There is no cost to the student.
