Community Service
As Christ gave His life for us, so we give ourselves in service to others. Our missions focus is built on progressive spiritual growth for Calhoun Christian School students and is an integrated part of our curriculum.
All students, preschool through high school, serve quarterly throughout the local community. In addition, students in ninth through twelfth grades participate in annual mission projects.
The typical transition will be:
Ninth grade - local
Tenth grade - regional
Eleventh grade - national
Twelfth grade - international
Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." —Matthew 22:37-39
Mission Project Objectives
Serving others is a vital part of who we are as a Christian school. Service is an integrated part of our curriculum. As such, we strive to live out God’s command in Deuteronomy 10:12: "And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."
The students, parents and/or guardians of Calhoun Christian School agree to:
Offer opportunities for students to develop teamwork skills for the sake of a common goal
Build cultural awareness
Live the Great Commission, Mark 16:15: “He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Positively impact our community, nation and world through Christian service
Grow each student academically, spiritually, socially and physically
Celebrate how God blesses our seeds of service
